I'm a secret tea snob! I want to share my love of tea with you!
I would not call myself a tea expert by any stretch of the imagination but I do have a soft spot for a good cup of loose leaf tea! Almost fifteen years ago, when only Lipton bag tea seemed to be the only readily available tea, I was introduced into the world of loose leaf tea. I worked a tech internship where we had four o'clock high tea every day. We would brew a pot of loose leaf tea with tea (cookies) biscuits. I always looked forward to four o'clock high tea.
In America coffee is king but I am glad to see loose leaf tea available in my local Walmart and Target. Why do I love loose leaf tea? Let me list the ways!
Tea Has a Lower Amount of Caffeine Level Than Coffee - It is not a secret caffeine fuels America but for those of us who are more caffeine sensitive coffee is not a viable option. Tea has less caffeine than coffee. It is nice to have a cup of freshly brewed tea and know that it will not give me an anxiety attack.
I Love the Taste and Variety - Technically, there are only a few types of tea that qualify as true tea, there are black tea, green tea, oolong tea, pu-erh tea, and white tea. Then there are other unofficial teas which include but not limited to chai tea, mint tea, hibiscus tea, ginger tea, chamomile tea. With such a variety of types of tea, there is a chance there is a tea that will catch your attention. I love a good matcha green tea in the morning!
Health benefits! - There are a ton of health benefits to tea such as lowering blood pressure, weight management, antioxidants, and lower bad cholesterol.
It is so relaxing - There is something about the act of brewing a fresh cup of tea, loose leaf tea which is better quality than the typical cheap bag tea, that is so soothing and calming.
Personally, I consider brewing a cup of tea for myself an act of self-care and self-love whether it is in the morning to greet the day or at the end of the day to unwind. I am looking forward to bring more tea content as my tea knowledge and appreciation expands.
